Youth Sports
At Yick Wo we believe sports are about more than wins and losses—they're about friendship, confidence, and school spirit.
While public elementary school-sponsored athletic teams aren't usually found in San Francisco, our Panda parents often form such close community that they organize teams for our students through established local leagues. These teams are started and run entirely by Yick Wo families — not the school or PTO — and are open to all.
Grades K-2
In our early elementary years, sports teams are organized by grade level or age-based
Focused on learning fundamentals, teamwork, and having fun. Often competing in supportive recreational leagues and clubs, such as SFYBL for baseball and Vikings, Glens, or Parceiros for soccer are organized by parent volunteers (no experience required!)
Grades 3-5
Starting in 3rd grade, many Panda athletes transition into the local Salesian youth athletic programs, which offer more structured league play and expanded opportunities across a variety of sports.

Teams are formed based on interest and participation — no prior experience required
