After-School Programs

On-Site: The Chinatown YMCA runs an on-site program at Yick Wo (3:30-6:30pm) Click HERE for more information on ExCEL.

Off-site: Many Yick Wo families utilize the After School Academy at the Tel-Hi Neighborhood Center (3:30-6pm). Tel-Hi staff come to Yick Wo at dismissal and walk the kids to the Tel-Hi Community center located at 660 Lombard Street. Have any other questions? Please contact Josh Feierstein, Program Director at JFeierstein@telhi.org or you can call him at (415) 421-6443 X 30 or check out their website.

Off-site:  Salesians Boys and Girls Club retrieves students (from 3rd grade and up) from Yick Wo at the end of the school day and transports them via school bus to Club, located at 680 Filbert Street in North Beach. For more information visit: https://salesianclub.org

Off-site: Destination Art works with parents who need before and after-school care. Click HERE for more information or contact Julie Mercer destinationart@yahoo.com

After School Enrichment classes available on-site at Yick Wo include Spanish, Tinkering, and Gymnastics.

Spanish Classes Our semester of new after-school programs starts next week Monday October 1st, with 10-week sessions running through the week of December 17. We will add age-appropriate classes open to Kindergarteners in the next session, once there has been more time to address 3:20pm Kinder dismissals. View the Yick Wo fall schedule and enroll using this link: https://www.joinhomeroom.com/sites/yick-wo-elementary-san-francisco

  • You can reference a step-by-step guide of how to book

  • If you have any problems or questions during enrollment or creating your new account, use the chatbox on Homeroom for quick, live help and responses.

Important note to families enrolled in classes:

  1. Kids should report directly to their classroom or class location after dismissal UNLESS your child is enrolled in YMCA. YMCA kids should report to the ASP program as usual and will be signed out by their enrichment class instructor.

  2. If your child attends Tel-Hi or Salesian after school, once class had ended you will be responsible for getting your child back to any offsite after school programs.

We look forward to piloting these classes! Please read the FAQ and please contact Carolyn Suh if you still have any questions!
